Last year, 9th grade, I got into the school's volleyball team. A few months later, the extracurricular director came to inform us that there was a competition being held at Querétaro, ASOMEX. It sounded really cool, but I didn't know whether or not I could go.
(At my old school you were chosen by the coaches to play in the competitions. I was just starting out and wondered whether or not I could get better in time for the competition. However, you only needed to pay to go.)
If you ask us how it went, it was awful. We were lucky if we won a set. The boys didn't go any better,
This year the school got invited to the competition again. We won several sets as a team. We even made the score go past 25 and began third sets. It was the last game that made the difference.
We played against a school in Cancún. We won the first and second set. The joy we felt is out of this world.
As for prizes, the boys won 3rd place and sportsmanship. I consider the sportsmanship trophy to be everyone's, though, because we cheered for each other and cheered for other teams.
